TNAG's Norfolk team take regional silver

TNAG provided all 5 of the team members making up the Norfolk team that participated at the regional inter-county level 3 team competition at Ipswich on Saturday 15 November. Georgia Bunn, Grace Ashworth, Naomi Loome, Chloe White and Polina Polyakova fought it out with teams from Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Bedfordshire and Essex, many of whom were able to draw upon a number of strong clubs for their team; a luxury which Norfolk does not have. However, the girls performed very well to take the silver medal just behind Hertfordshire in the finale to the regional competition season. Chloe and Polina especially posted some excellent scores, and Georgia managed to hold her nerve in only her second ever regional event.
Head coach Sara-Jane Inglis said, "It is a very good result given that over the last few years Norfolk has undoubtedly been the poor relation in the region. We have managed to go some way to changing that in our first year. Special mention goes to Naomi Loome who sustained a painful injury to her hand a week or so before the event and her participation was in doubt. However she was desperate not to let the team down and battled through the pain to ensure that she contributed to the team's success. It has been a long hard season and all of the girls now get a well earned break from competition and can start their preparation for the grades events starting in February".
