First annual Talent Selection Day a great success

TNAG's first Talent Selection Day was held on Sunday 9 March and was a great success.
Across the full day more than 70 girls attended and were put through their paces on a number of Talent Identification tests by TNAG's team of coaches. The standard across the day was very high and the coaches have some difficult decisions to make now in deciding who to invite to join the new mini squads, development squads and intermediate groups being created for the new term.
As the turn out for the day was so high, and given how busy we are at the Academy right now, it will not be possible to give all of the attendees a telephone call as we had previously hoped in order to inform you of individual results. Instead, those to be offered places in one of the new squads will be contacted by letter, email or telephone by Sunday 16th March 2008. If you have not heard from us by then you can conclude that it is our view that your daughter should remain in her recreational class at present.
We will of course be regularly reviewing the gymnasts, and so please be assured that if your daughter has not been offered the chance to step up at this stage it does not mean she will not be in the future! Gymnasts all develop at different speeds and at different ages, and the way almost everyone has improved since they started at the Academy bodes very well. In the meantime, however, we are looking (coaches permitting!) to be in a position soon to offer some of the recreational gymnasts the opportunity to attend a second weekly class since it appeared to us that some of the girls who are not quite ready to step up yet to the squad system could benefit from such. If you would like to express an interest in an additional class such as this then do let us know.

Thank you to all those that attended. We do appreciate your patience; this process is a vital part in the development of the Academy, and we are extremely grateful to all of those who took part. We hope that as the Academy expands we will be in a position to offer more and more classes, to suit everyone's skill level and aspirations.
