TNAG REIGN SUPREME AT NORFOLK CHAMPS!

16/02/2008

TNAG's first ever competition outing in their own name was a raging success!

TNAG entered six gymnasts in the Norfolk Grades Championships, held today in Norwich.  All gymnasts won medals, and no gymnast from any of the other competing clubs managed to beat any of TNAG's girls.

The competing gymnasts and their results were:

Polina Polyakova - competed in Club Grade 4 competition (the category with the most entrants) and took away the Gold medal with a distinction obtaining score of 46.35.  Polina will contest the Regional Final of the same event next week in Ipswich.

Chloe White and Summer Kenzitt - competed in Club Grade 2 competition.  Chloe put together a very consistent series of scores to take the Silver medal scoring 45.65.  Summer had a fantastic competition, to win the Gold medal with an impressive total score of 48.30.  Summer and Chloe will both compete in the Regional Final next week.

Lucy Jarvis - competed in Elite Compulsory Grade 4 competition.  Lucy took the Gold medal scoring 55.95,  a superb feat for TNAG's youngest competitior (Lucy is only 8 years old).

Emily Crowe and Angel Kenzitt - competed in Elite Compulsory Grade 3 competition (the highest level in the event).  In a very close competition indeed,  Emily scored an impressive 58.025 and took the Silver medal.   Angel amassed a huge total of 58.45 to win the Gold medal,  her first ever county title.

Tracy Appleby, assistant Head Coach of TNAG, commented;  "Today was a fabulous achievement for TNAG,  and the girls did us credit - we are delighted that all of the hard work is starting to pay off.  The girls should move forward to the Regional Finals with confidence."

Sara-Jane Inglis, Head Coach of TNAG, said;  "Today was a monumental achievement for TNAG on every possible level - it really could not have gone any better.  To be in this position a little more than a month after opening is just incredible,  and I could not be more proud of all of our girls who conducted themselves with poise and dignity throughout in what was, for many of them, an extremely challenging environment.   Whilst there were some incredible individual performances from our girls,  what I will take away most from today was our amazing team spirit from the competing gymnasts, coaches, parents and the many supporters who attended.   We are going to seek to build upon these very strong foundations;  being the most successful club in Norfolk is a good start but is only just the beginning for us."
